Two new frog species (Microhylidae: Cophixalus) from boulder habitats on Cape York Peninsula, north-east Australia
Australia has a highly localised but diverse radiation of microhylid frogs. 18 species are described from north-east Queensland (14 Cophixalus and 4 Austrochaperina), most with highly localised montane distributions. While most species are small (10-25 mm) rainforest species, two differ dramatically in ecology and morphology. Cophixalus saxatilis and C. zweifeli inhabit isolated areas of jumble...
متن کاملSequencing of whole plastid genomes and nuclear ribosomal DNA of Diospyros species (Ebenaceae) endemic to New Caledonia: many species, little divergence
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Some plant groups, especially on islands, have been shaped by strong ancestral bottlenecks and rapid, recent radiation of phenotypic characters. Single molecular markers are often not informative enough for phylogenetic reconstruction in such plant groups. Whole plastid genomes and nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) are viewed by many researchers as sources of information for phy...

15 صفحه اولA NEW SPECIES OF HETEROSTEGINA IN MIDDLE PALEOCENE FROM THE KHUZESTAN AREA (S.W. IRAN)
New evidence gained by the study of Foraminifera from Khuzestan province in southwest Iran reveals that the basal limit of the genus Heterostegina is not restricted to the Eocene epoch. By introducing a new species of this genus (H. rezvaninejadi), this study shows that the early appearance of this genus should be lowered down further still, at least, into the Middle Paleocene.
متن کاملMicrosciadin, a New Milk-Clotting Cysteine Protease from an Endemic Species, Euphorbia microsciadia
In the present work, a new branch of biotechnological advantage of the latex of an endemic perennial plant, Euphorbia microsciadia has been introduced. A novel cysteine protease, designated as microsciadin, was purified from the latex of Euphorbia microsciadia by a combination of sequential usage of SP-Sepharose Fast Flow column in two different pHs and a final gel filtration ...
